I am currently a Geology major at UC Berkeley and working as an undergraduate researcher with Profs. Brandy Toner and Peter Kang. My main focus has been in image processing. Thomas worked previously under Prof. Michael Manga doing image segmentation at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, and now uses X-ray micro-CT data to image and segment the interior of rocks, with the goal of analyzing fluid flow and microbial activity in fracture space. Outside of the laboratory he is an avid reader, Spanish minor, and cardio fiend. With his experience on this project Thomas hopes to pursue environmental or geotechnical engineering in the future.
